Once the epicenter of the Inca Empire, Peru inspires wonder and mystery, from the majestic ruins of Machu Picchu to the Amazon. Join Nikon and AFAR professional photographers Reed Hoffmann and Lucy Laucht for an exciting expedition across Peru’s breathtaking terrain and historic sites, with hands-on photography mentoring and access to the latest Nikon equipment.
This small-group expedition begins in Lima, where we’ll sample the city’s leading restaurants and cultural sites, including the Museo Larco Herrera and the catacombs of the Convent of San Francesco. We’ll also experience the vibrant arts scene of Milaflores. The expedition continues with a short flight to the Sacred Valley—with time spent with the local Amaru community and visiting notable landmarks—before heading to Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most compelling photo subjects. Next we continue to Cusco for a guided tour and some personal time to explore this colorful city. Since no trip to Peru would be complete without experiencing the Amazon, we’ll spend time in Puerto Maldonado, staying at an ecolodge and photographing wildlife, including parrots, toucans, macaws, and giant river otters.
